Lori Williams - New Day - Review

Lori Williams is an exceptional singer, songwriter, educator, musical theatre actress, and MORE! She’s recently released a new album called “The Book”. I’ll be reviewing the new single “New Day”. We recently played it on our weekly live stream show Indie Music LIVE! and the reviews are in, it’s HOT!

LORI WILLIAMS

We get tons of submissions of all genres and Lori Williams’ “New Day” is one of the best RnB tracks in 2021 BY FAR! At least, here at Indie Music Plus. I’m always amazed at the amazing musicians that have come through this website over the past 6 years. Having said that I think that Lori Williams could possibly have the most extensive and accomplished resume.

As a performing artist, Lori was nominated for a 2014 Helen Hayes Award as an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Resident Musical for her role as Ella Fitzgerald in “Ladies Swing the Blues: A Jazz Fable” (directed by Thomas W. Jones). Lori has received letters of recognition for her performances by President Joseph Biden, former Speaker of the House John Boehner, and Maryland Senator C. Anthony Muse. WOW!

She has also been found providing background and featured singing for artists such as Gospel’s Yolanda Adams and Walter Hawkins, R&B’s Maysa, Howard Hewett, Will Downing, and Phil Perry, Soul’s Lloyd Price, Jerry Butler, Ben E. King, and Gene Chandler, Contemporary Jazz’s Jonathan Butler, Bob Baldwin, Stanley Jordan, Nathan East, Norman Brown, Najee, and Tom Browne, Traditional Jazz’s Slide Hampton, Terri Lyne Carrington, Winard Harper, and Christian Havel, and Dance sensation Savion Glover.

Everything about the sound of Lori Williams is perfection. The production is top-notch, the musicianship is off the charts and well, Lori herself is sensational. If you’re into jazz vocalists and haven’t dived into Lori Williams yet, you’re welcome!

We’re curious to know what YOU think!! Let us know on social media @IndieMusicPlus and also let the artist know that you heard their music here first on Indie Music Plus! As always, thank you for reading and continuing to support indie music of all genres! Let us review YOUR music!
