Dee & D'Zee - E.N.E.R.G.Y - Review

Cover for the single E.N.E.R.G.Y by Dee & D'Zee

Hey, are you a fan of funk? D'Zee is back with another single and this time he's partnered with a friend, Dee. Recently, Dee & D'Zee have begun to create music together, and they have presented me with their new single for review, E.N.E.R.G.Y My initial response? WOWZA!!!

I've reviewed D'Zee's music in the past. He's renowned for crafting the perfect blend of funk, jazz, and soul in his music. However, his new collaborative single with Dee takes the cake for me! E.N.E.R.G.Y may be a little hard to type on a keyboard, but it's a joy for the ears and a fun song to groove to. Let me dig a little deeper...

E.N.E.R.G.Y

As per usual, D'Zee's recording and performance are stellar. He's a highly accomplished musician who has been in the industry for a significant time. Although he's primarily a drummer, D'Zee also excels at composing and playing other instruments. He's collaborated with numerous artists over the years, including Katie Leone and Sandra StVictor.

I absolutely adore this new single. As a keyboard player myself, I find the piano parts utterly captivating! Not only does the piano itself sound phenomenal, but the pianist also demonstrates a fantastic understanding of accompaniment. The sections he's laying down are epic! The horn section also holds its own while D'Zee is behind the drums. Both in the video and the recording, the bass sounds excellent, but there's a discrepancy - in the video, he's playing an upright bass while the recording sounds like an electric one. It doesn't really matter though, because everything sounds terrific! The vocalist, "Dee," also delivers a dynamic performance.

According to the bio sent to me, the duo "Dee and D'Zee" is a fresh collaboration, and this is their second single. Dee's voice certainly enhances D'Zee's sound. However, in my opinion, Dee's voice tends to lean a little too much towards "musical theatre." She definitely sounds fantastic on the track, don't get me wrong! I just feel she could incorporate a bit more jazz into her delivery. The performance, as it stands, feels slightly rigid.

Dee and D'Zee's new single E.N.E.R.G.Y comes highly recommended! I would love to hear your thoughts on the song in the comment section below. As always, thank you for reading and visiting Indie Music Plus. And, make sure to let Dee & D'Zee know you heard their new single E.N.E.R.G.Y here first!"
