Nick Duane - Anything - Review

Nick Duane has been making music for decades. He’s based in Rhode Island and has played both bass and guitar with several New England regional acts and is a decades-long advocate for original music. He has a unique sound that is reminiscent of some of the greats of the ’70s. Nick Duane’s new single “Anything” is his best yet in my opinion and here’s why.

NICK DUANE

One of the things that I’ve critiqued Nick for before is some of his production sounds dated. In particular, the drums. Well, with this new track they sound great and provide a solid groove. In fact, overall the production of “Anything” has come a long way for my ears. I’m really enjoying the sounds. Nick definitely has a genuine sound that classic rockers will love.

I think one thing that might help the overall soundscape for “Anything” is a little more reverb on the vocals. Maybe a double or two of the vocal track? Something that makes it bigger. It seems a little dry to me in relation to the rest of the track. All in all tho this is my favorite Nick Duane single to date!

Like I said before, classic rockers will love Nick Duane. Especially those that support indie music. He keeps coming out with singles regularly. I think it’s time for him to come out with a full-length or even an EP but that’s up to him. Fans of Tom Petty, David Bowie, and the like will likely have a spot for Nick Duane in their music library. Get in touch with Nick Duane and let him know you read this article and tell him what YOU think!
